india chalo!

im gonna go to india! and thats final!
i did not spend 3 years dreaming about meeting Shahrukh Khan and the rest of the Hot brigade, just so some fatbrat could decide she wanted to go to spain!
this was a class trip!a unanimous decision had to be taken...now all i had to do was make sure Everyone wanted to go to india...hehehehehe(thats supposed to be evil laughter)
ok so wat are the pros and cons of going to spain and the same for india...well the biggest was budget...so all i had to do was make everyone think we had no money...and Spain was an extravagance...WHICH IT WAS!!!
i mean hello!we only had enough money...keh spain ko haath laga keh ajayain!warna ghoomna shoomna...well thats wat travelogues are for...nice pictures, maps...tips...all for not too much money!lol.
so india it had to be!
so armed with proof and facts...basically budget issues (and the fact that I was gonna go to india over everyones dead body,lol)...i meticulously brain washed..oops did i say that..i mean convinced my entire class that india was the best option...
home of our roots, very cultural, great design exposure (the trip had to be relevent to our department,we were all graphic designers), a great tourist spot...cheap(i mean money...NOT TACKY), and for all the romantics...the TajMahal....one of the wonders of the world!lalallalalallaaaaaaaa!
i could see it working, slowly i managed to convince everyone...ok so mayb the fact that we didnt have money to go anywhere else could also have been a convincing factor.lol.but trust me...at the end...the hype was insane!
finally decided, we got our passports ready
*urs truly had an expired passport, and had to get a new one...dont ask how, pulled every god forsaken string i knew...still have nightmares about the lines*
filled out the visa forms...four of em...with no mistakes or start over with a new one...and ok fine so i kept messing up mine and had to keep getting new copies and start over...
and got advice from alumni who'd been before about the best places to go...and the cheapest places to shop!
of course the only con for me was having to listen to my brother every day about...wait...ill just quote him...
"dude, u get a great opportuniy to go anywhere...internationally..and wat do u choose...a country that looks like us, with ppl like us, food like ours and the same language!its even the same currency...!!!!"
to which i replied...
"we dont have Shahrukh Khan, so shut up!"
i know india has alot more to offer but when arguing with idiots...i didnt want to waste too many braincells.
lol...ok so i had visions of bumping into bolleywood stars left right and centre!i can dream cant i!
*did i mention im a bolleywood buff...and i love jhatka matka music,lol!oho...filmi music in general, right down to the remixes*
irelevent info i know...but its still about india...so there!lol.
hmmm...oh yes...we also had to have a fundraiser for the trip...successfully pulled off an abida parveen concert and earned the moola...id like to mention here that putting on the concert felt impossible...especially when convincing sponsors to invest money or banners...or ANYTHING DAMMIT!
bohat zaleel hona para...ego ko supress kiya...aur paisay kamayay!
so finally we were going to india...all set, itinirary ready...new suitcase bought...everything had to be just right...
the day before departure i sat in my room packing and at regular intervals yelled out
"WE'RE GOING TO INDIAAAAAAA, LALALLALAAAAAAAA"
and from not far away...infact from a creature sprawled on my bed(a creature i shall refer to as brother)i hear...
"lalalllallaaaaa my ass!from one third world country to another!"
10...9...8...7...6...i will not hurt him...5...4...he's just jealous....3....2...
WHAM!

My God! How do you manage to put everything this way? Everyone around me has been staring at me for the past 10 minutes 'coz I've been uncontrollably laughing!
And BTW, noticed the change in your Profile Description. Nice photo, if I may say so, though I like the previous "About yourself" text ( "..I dance to everything, even ringtones..." ) ;-)

WOW! I liked the convinving factor that you all the way tried to induce as per there taste ..though in between when you have given clarifications that why you don't want to mess up with or...why you want to go india..gives some real sense! As now everywhere here people talk only about India & China the economic future giants..!
Ur story is quite convincing as I felt like packing my bags too ;)

Good one..let me see the rest!
cheers!
